Responsibilities include
serving as Clerk to the Macoupin County Board, the Election Authority of
Macoupin County, register for vital records in the County, tax extensions
for the districts in Macoupin County and districts that overlap the county,
tax redemptions, payroll and accounts payable, and the recording of deeds.
Biography:
Michele Zippay was first elected Macoupin County Clerk and Recorder in 2002
and re-elected in 2006. Before being elected, Zippay worked in the Illinois
Senate as the Assistant Minute Clerk and prior to that as Deputy Fiscal
Office at the State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. She is Second
Vice-President of the Illinois Association of County Clerk’s and Recorders,
serves on the Executive and Legislative Committees of the Association as
well as the State Board of Elections Advisory Committee.
