The State’s Attorney's Office is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases in Macoupin County and for representing the county in civil cases.

The State’s Attorney's Office is located on the ground level of the Macoupin County Courthouse in Carlinville. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment.

The State’s Attorney's Office has nothing to do with small claims, evictions or civil cases where the county is not a party.

Assistant State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison: ext. 255
-Garrison handles traffic, misdemeanor, and limited felony cases.

Assistant State’s Attorney Doug Goings: ext. 257
-Goings handles juvenile, traffic, misdemeanor, and limited felony cases

Don McDaniels: ext. 258
-McDaniels is the crime victim coordinator. Victims whose cases have been filed should direct their inquires to McDaniels.
-McDaniels handles bad check cases on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
